This is beautiful to read and the photos are too. An hour from my house in Australia we have the Blue Lotus Gardens where there are literally thousands of lotus flowers growing out of a series of ponds. Every single flower is exquisite.

Thank you so much for the kind comment. The fields here are very small, so I feel lucky if I can see 30 or so flowers in one paddy field. It must be so magical to see hundreds and more.

This is so beautiful, thank you for sharing those words & pictures! I've never been this close to lotus before (but I love eating renkon haha). This microseason feels very timely as I'm trying to be more in the present moment & at peace with everything that's unfolding. I want to get back into yoga & meditation, maybe a figurative lotus blooming from the mud. And your newsletters always remind me to spend more time in nature too!

“We don’t just bloom once.” Thank you for this particular sentence. Yours for finding renewed joy in many small moments,

Thank you! Now I am wondering if I can somehow find a way to create a pond for my ducks and geese that could incorporate lotus so I can grow them. I doubt it because the geese are so big and strong and would probably just decimate the plants but if you have any knowledge of people combining water fowl with a lotus pond, I would love to hear it. I could maybe create a system of fencing the geese out of part of the pond but letting the ducks through? Just asking because you seem to also care about sustainable agriculture…
